Upcoming Events

The streets of downtown filled with costumed creatures, as sculptured pumpkins overlooked the goings-on in Village Square on Saturday, October 25; the Glen Cove Downtown BID’s annual Halloween Parade turned School and Glen Streets into trick-or-treat central.
The day started with the Regency at Glen Cove’s thrilling Spooky Story Hour; marchers lined up just before 1PM to follow a float decorated by volunteers from the Glen Cove High School DECA Club through downtown, then visited welcoming merchants for trick-or-treat goodies.
The Maniac Pumpkin Carvers of Brooklyn made their first-ever appearance in Glen Cove; carver Chris (Maniac) Soria worked throughout the afternoon to produce two intricately detailed pumpkins with grimacing faces.
The Fun Bus mobile gym kept kids sliding, climbing and running for multiple trips through its interior, while game tables featured Halloween fun such as “Dizzy Mummy”, “Vampire (marshmallow) Bite” and “Spider Ring Toss”.
Congratulations to Costume Contest winners “Pikachu” Logan Piriyatamwong, “Albert Einstein” Aurora (Rory) Seery, and “Autumn Princess” Rachel Solomon! We would like to thank our judges, Mary Cooper of the Downtown BID Board of Directors and DECA Clubmembers Sky Lewis, Kiyona Joseph, Sirina Joshi, and Madeline Schlesinger for their services.
Seven pies were demolished by our hungry Pie-Eating Contestants, with Raul Aguilar finishing the most pie in sixty seconds, no hands allowed!
The Glen Cove Downtown BID would like to thank the members of the Glen Cove DECA Club for their assistance, and our sponsors: Christina Mercurio DDS Pediatric Dentistry, The Downtown Café, and Starbucks, as well as our participating merchants.
