  Tinkers by Paul Harding

How does our perception of ourselves transform as we grow older?  In what ways does aging change how we view others?  The texts in the Growing & Aging in Glen Cove book discussions explore these and other questions about middle age, growing older, caring for aging loved ones and finding satisfaction in the later stages of life.  This discussion features Carol Waldman, retired director of the Glen Cove Senior Center, who will discuss Tinkers by Paul Harding.
The Glen Cove SAGE Foundation Reading & Discussion workshop series on Growing and Aging is funded by a grant from Humanities New York in partnership with the National Endowment for the Humanities and generously sponsored by The Glen Cove Library and The Glen Cove Senior Center.

100 Years of Children's Books

What did you enjoy reading most when you were a child and young adult? Almost all of us remember favorite books and magazines that struck us and have stayed with us because of the story, the characters, or the illustrations. The NSHM's fall exhibit will welcome the new school year with an exhibit on popular child and young adult reading of the last one hundred years.
