Glen Floors Turns 90

The Glen Cove Downtown BID congratulates Glen Floors on its 90th anniversary. The business was founded in 1932 at a small storefront at 68 Glen St. by Fred Capobianco. Now at 30 Glen Street, the business is run by several of the 17 Capobianco children. Glen Floors was recognized at the Downtown BID's annual meeting on March 10, and guests enjoyed a cake designed to resemble the storefront.

Solid 70s Rocks Glen Cove on New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve, downtown Glen Cove was the place to be to ring in 2022. Solid 70s Band took the stage for the final concert of 2021, a bonus concert presented by the Downtown Sounds Concert Series. Several hundred people gathered near Village Square to enjoy the live music outdoors in mild weather. Basile Electric created a sign so attendees could count down to the new year, and Starbucks supplied free coffee and hot cocoa to keep people warm.
