Downtown Holiday Festival

On Saturday, Dec. 1, the Glen Cove Downtown BID kicks off the holiday season with its annual Holiday Festival, followed by the City of Glen Cove's Tree Lighting. Festivities will begin at 1 p.m. when Santa arrives by horse and carriage. Horse and carriage rides will be given around Downtown Glen Cove for all to enjoy from 1 to 3:45 p.m. with musical performances ongoing until the tree lighting at 4:45 p.m.

Painting Workshop: Winter Wonderland

Thursday, November 15 at 2pm

Talented landscape artist Barbara Lewin will guide you step-by-step in a series of three painting classes. She’ll teach you how to paint a winter landscape scene with acrylic paint. No painting experience is necessary. The materials fee of $10 (payable to: Barbara Lewin) covers all materials necessary to participate. Please register at the Glen Cove Library’s Information desk.

Reap What You Sow!  Seed Cleaning Day

With the next growing season always on our seed-saving minds, we’ve been collecting seed heads for the last few months.  We’ll be “cleaning” these seeds (removing the chaff and other impurities) to improve their viability for the future.  Bring your own seeds (clearly marked with plant name, variety, location and date of harvest) or help us clean ours.  Please register.
